Child Sponsorship Details

Children who are identified as needy are taken into the Rainbow Christian Missions Child Sponsorship program.  The fees required to sponsor one of the children are:
  • $230 for a full primary sponsorship (payable in December, on in two installments of $115 in June and December)
  • $330 for a full Junior Secondary school sponsorship (payable in December, or in two installments of $165 in June and December, or in four installments of 82.50 in March, June, September, and December)
  • $530 for a full Senior Secondary school sponsorship (payable in December, or in two installments of $265 in June and December, or in four installments of 132.50 in March, June, September, and December)
A portion of Sponsorship fees is used to provide food and supplies, such as cooking oil, maize, four, sugar, etc., and to provide for personal needs for the child, such as shoes, blankets, mosquito nets, soap, etc.

A portion of Sponsorship fees is used to cover administrative fees for the program, such as office expenses, compensation for the Kenya agents who administer the program, and transportation  fees incurred to administer the program in Kenya.

The remaining sponsorship fees are managed by agents in Kenya to pay for fees and expenses that are required by the child's school.  

Typical fees/expenses that are covered for primary students, include:
  • School fees
  • Uniforms and shoes
  • Lunch programs
  • Extra learning fees charged when students receive education during school holidays

Typical fees/expenses that are covered for Junior and Senior Secondary school students, include:
  • School fees
  • Uniforms and shoes
  • Lunch programs
  • Extra learning fees charged when students receive education during school holidays
  • Books, calculators, and other school supplies
  • Mattresses, bathing, and other hygiene needs
