Aids is one of the leading causes of death in Africa. It leaves thousands of children as orphans each year. Through education, more and more men, women, and children are learning how to cope with the disease and to lead productive and hopeful lives.
The Kenyan government provides drugs to those tested positive for HIV, which has helped to give those affected a fighting chance. However, many individuals with this virus still need help getting transportation to the clinics where the drugs are dispensed. They need food that enables them to stay strong, and they need other medical care to address the results of the virus.
Rainbow Christian Missions helps to provide this support by partnering with an HIV support group called Tuschaurine (which in Swahili means "lets talk"). This support group has grown from just over a dozen women in 2003, to now include over 200 men and women throughout western Kenya.
