Missions

Ruth Dietz has led five mission teams to Butere since her initial trip in 2001.  Each team transports needed supplies to the people of Butere, the church and the schools.  More details on these and future trips can be found by clicking on the links above.

Team members partake in a variety of activities and the goals of the team are set based on the needs of the community and the skills and abilities of the team members.  Although each member begins this journey with a degree of anxious anticipation of what God has in store for them, everyone returns with a feeling that they have received many more blessings than what they have been able to give to the wonderful people of Kenya.

Regardless of the activities planned for the team, worship is always a significant part of the mission.  Team members participate in and lead worship services at the Butere Miracle Centre, the local Anglican Church and various local schools.

An of course, what trip to Kenya would be complete without a safari?  This part of the trip, planned for the final days in Kenya, gives the team members a chance to experience the wonders of God's creation and also to reflect on all that they have experienced.  After this, it is time to go home.  Usually, this is not the end, rather just the beginning of what God has in store for each team member.
